TEDWomen 2017 – Speakers
TEDWomen2017-Speakers
If there was ever an event that mesmerized me to my bones and for the only reason that it had such life influencing thoughts from inspiring speakers, it was TEDWomen 2017 at New Orleans in November earlier this year.
Although each one of the talks and ideas shared were one better than the other, I have recollection of a few and those that struck with me instantly. Anushka, the 14 yr old young lady to the ever-so-graceful Leah Chase at sweet 94s spoke of their incredible stories of life. Let me share below some of the wonderful stories of these awesome speakers (mostly ladies) with you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!!
Grateful for Family and Friends
Today, this Thanksgiving Day, there are so many things that we are thankful for. We are so grateful for being blessed with the love of dear ones and the care and never ending support of family. We cannot be thankful enough for the hand woven sweaters, the steaming hot dishes cooked to perfection, the warm cup of tea in the mornings, or the mouthwatering desserts made with love. All these little things that make life worthwhile.

Teresa Njoroge @ TEDWomen 2017: What I learned serving time for a crime I did not commit
She was a banker doing great for herself and unjustly faced a conviction. She went to jail for the crime she did not commit. Ever imagine how that life would be like and for a moment think how it would impact yours. And in a day and age where most Money crimes are settled outside of the courts with money.
My TEDWomen 2017 experience at New Orleans : Part 1
TEDWomen 2017, New Orleans
Attending the TEDWomen 2017 as a TED translator was an awesome experience for me. Bridges was the theme of this year’s conference. As Pat Mitchell, the curator and host of TEDWomen so aptly put it,
“We will explore ideas about how to build and design bridges, both literal and virtual, that connect us to each other and as a global community; ideas about how to suspend opinions, beliefs, even doubts; and ideas about when and how to burn bridges in order to move forward.”
Furthermore, it was not just an event for me, but an experience of a life time ! Hearing the powerful speakers, getting to meet wonderful people and coming across inspiring stories. As so many of my loving friends and relatives have been asking me about my experience, I just thought might as well write a post about it.
